Real Madrid Provide Courtois Injury Update Before Club World Cup Campaign
Real Madrid confirmed on Sunday that star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois's suffered an injury just 2 week ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World cup in the United States.
Official Diagnosis Revealed
In official statement, the club said:
"After tests carried out by our medical services, Thibaut Courtois's been diagnosed with sacroiliac joint inflammation. His condition's being monitored"
International Duty Ruled Out
The injury means Courtois will miss Belgium’s upcoming UEFA qualifiers against North Macedonia & Wales, dealing blow to the Red Devils campaign for the 2026 World cup.
No Major Concern for Madrid
However according to Spanish outlet AS, the injury isn't considered serious and Courtois's expected to feature in the Club World cup.
Club World Cup Debut Nears
Real Madrid'll begin their Club World cup campaign against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia on 18 Jun in Miami with Courtois likely to return in time.
