Real Madrid: sanctions imposed on Valverde and Tchouaméni
Real Madrid has officially sanctioned Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni following the disciplinary proceedings opened against the two players. In a statement released this Friday, the Madrid club announced a €500,000 fine for each of the midfielders.
Both players appeared before the club-appointed investigator after the incidents that led to the launch of this internal procedure. According to Real Madrid, Valverde and Tchouaméni expressed their “deep regrets” regarding the accusations made against them.
The club also specified that both internationals apologized to each other before extending their apologies to the Madrid dressing room, the coaching staff, and the supporters.
Still according to the official statement, both players declared themselves ready to accept any disciplinary decision taken by the club's management.
After reviewing the case and taking into account the apologies issued by those involved, Real Madrid has decided to close the matter for good with this financial penalty.
