Real Madrid to Offer Luka Modrić One-Month Deal for Club World Cup

Real Madrid have yet to officially announce Xabi Alonso as their new head coach but behind the scenes, the club's already making moves to shape next season and Luka Modric's future's one of the key topics on the table.

Short Term Renewal Only for Club World Cup

According to Cadena SER, the Spanish giants plan to offer Modric one month contract extension solely to enable his participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World cup which kicks off in Jun.

However the club isn't currently considering full season renewal for the Croatian midfielder. That said, the final decision will depend on Xabi Alonso who's expected to take over and could push for Modric’s stay based on the team’s leadership needs.

Alonso's Evaluation Crucial

Alonso reportedly wants to assess Modric’s form in training, pre season and during the Club World cup before making his recommendation to the board.
