Real Madrid: Yan Diomandé pushing Vinicius Jr, here's how
At Real Madrid, Yan Diomandé has finally come to life. With three goals and three assists in his last four matches, the Ivory Coast international is growing in influence. He should take advantage of Vinicius' poor form to reshuffle the pecking order.
For the third consecutive time, Real Madrid secured a Champions League victory against RB Leipzig (4-1) at the Bernabéu. Los Blancos remain perfect in Europe's most prestigious competition, having notably beaten Inter and Roma. Yesterday, Yan Diomandé impressed once again.
Diomandé, everything has changed in Madrid
Since returning from the latest international break with Ivory Coast, he has been a completely different player. As a reminder, on October 10, against Villarreal, the Ivorian scored the winning goal (1-0), allowing José Mourinho's men to return to winning ways after their defeat to Atlético de Madrid (2-1). Against AS Roma (3-4) last week, Diomandé once again stood out with an assist for Kylian Mbappé. This weekend, he scored a goal and provided an assist against Sevilla (4-1), before capping his excellent run with a superb volley against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Vinicius no longer convincing
With three goals and three assists in his last four matches, Yan Diomandé is making a strong impact. He has therefore changed the situation. In direct competition with Diomandé, Vinicius Jr, meanwhile, has not scored in a Real Madrid shirt since August 26 against Real Sociedad. With just one goal and three assists in La Liga and no contributions in the Champions League, his record is well below his 2024 standards.

On Wednesday evening against the Germans, another turning point occurred. Vinícius was replaced by the Ivorian in the 70th minute. Diomandé wasted no time making his mark. He provided an assist for Kylian Mbappé in the 83rd minute, then scored a superb goal in the 87th. José Mourinho was inevitably pleased.
