Real Madrid: Zinédine Zidane to return? The club makes its decision

Real Madrid has made its decision regarding a possible return of Zinédine Zidane to the bench to replace Xabi Alonso.

Last Sunday, Real Madrid suffered a home defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu against Celta de Vigo (0-2) in La Liga. This loss has put Xabi Alonso in an increasingly precarious position. Indeed, several Spanish media outlets claim that his job will be on the line this Wednesday when Madrid faces Manchester City in the Champions League showdown. On Tuesday, El Mundo reported that Los Merengues are considering both Jürgen Klopp and Zinedine Zidane as potential successors should the Basque coach depart.

However, this information was denied this afternoon by AS. The Spanish outlet contacted the Casa Blanca and confirmed that, inside the club, no one has yet considered bringing Zidane back for a third spell as Madrid manager. Furthermore, AS adds that Zizou has been in talks for several months with the French Football Federation to potentially take charge of the French national team.
