Real Sociedad President Offers Ambiguous Response on Nayef Aguerd’s Future

Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay's sparked fresh doubts about the future of Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd who's on loan from West Ham United.

Aguerd 28, had started finding his rhythm at the Basque club but recent injury sustained in the Copa del Rey semifinal against Real Madrid has thrown his season , and his future , into uncertainty.

No Commitment Yet From Real Sociedad

Speaking on Radio Marca Donostia Aperribay gave non committal response regarding the club’s plans to retain Aguerd beyond the current campaign:

“We’ll see We haven’t reached that point yet. We haven’t spoken about it. We’ll see whether he stays or not” he said.

The ambiguous statement adds fuel to speculation especially as West Ham are reportedly keen on reintegrating the Moroccan international when the loan deal ends.

• Aguerd has missed 10 match this season due to various injuries including his current setback.
• His physical condition remains major concern, casting doubt on whether Sociedad will move to extend his stay.
