A meeting is scheduled in the coming days between Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, and Walid Regragui, head coach of the Atlas Lions. Described as “routine” by well-informed sources, this meeting is primarily intended to take stock of the current situation, with no major decisions expected.

A source close to the matter, cited by (Kooora), confirms that this meeting is in no way related to Regragui's future, despite criticism following the national team's recent performances. This is a standard appointment held after every training camp or series of friendlies, during which a detailed technical report is presented.

The meeting will focus in particular on analyzing the last two matches against Tunisia (2-0) and Benin (1-0), and will help lay out the roadmap for the next phase of preparation, especially for the crucial World Cup 2026 qualifier against Niger scheduled for September.

“Contrary to the rumors, there is absolutely no question of changing the head coach,” the same source emphasized. “Regragui enjoys the full confidence of the Federation. He is the man for the job, and he has pledged to Moroccans to win the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.”

While results have been positive, some criticism has targeted the team's playing style. Regragui responded after the Benin match by reminding everyone of the team's landmark achievements under his leadership, notably the historic run to the World Cup semifinals in Qatar and the impressive ongoing winning streak.

This upcoming meeting is therefore just a logical step in the ongoing work. The objective remains unchanged: to build a solid, competitive squad ready to face upcoming challenges on both the African and global stages.
