Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia pulled off a historic feat on Saturday, May 4, by winning the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League final against Japan's Kawasaki Frontale (2-0).

This triumph marks the club's first continental victory, witnessed by more than 60,000 fans rallying behind their team at Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah.

Algerian star Riyad Mahrez was instrumental in this victory, standing out as one of the tournament's top performers. He found the net 9 times and provided 8 assists, ranking among the competition's most decisive contributors. He finished just one goal behind the tournament's top scorer, Salem Al-Dawsari of Al-Hilal.

After the victory, Mahrez stated: "We are extremely happy with this achievement, that's why we play football. It's the big competitions that drive us to give our very best. My goal when joining Al-Ahly was clear: bring the club back to the top by winning this title."
