Ronaldinho Backs Ancelotti as Brazil’s New Coach Ahead of 2026 World Cup Push
Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho's thrown his support behind Carlo Ancelotti after the Italian tactician was officially named the new head coach of the Selecao.
Ancelotti to Lead Brazil Until 2026 World Cup
The Brazilian Football Confederation CBF confirmed that Ancelotti 65, will begin his tenure on 25 May 2025 replacing Dorival Junior who was sacked following defeat to Argentina in the 2026 World cup qualifiers.
Ancelotti who last managed Real Madrid, is expected to guide Brazil through the North American hosted World cup in 2026 (USA, Canada and Mexico).

Speaking about the appointment , Ronaldinho said:
"I love Ancelotti. I’ve worked with him before and I know him well. It was the right decision by the federation. As a Brazilian , I’m happy he’s with us and I hope he brings home the next World cup"
Ancelotti’s First Tests in June
Ancelotti’s debut on the Brazilian bench's expected to come against Ecuador on 5 Jun , followed by clash with Paraguay 5 days later in Sao Paulo, both part of the World cup qualifiers.
Brazilian fans will now wait to see if Ancelotti can end the nation's over two decade long World cup drought.
