Safouane Benzahra joins AS Monaco

Safouane Benzahra leaves the Netherlands to begin a new chapter in the Principality. The young NAC Breda midfielder has signed with AS Monaco until June 2028.

At just 16 years old, Benzahra is considered one of the brightest prospects in Dutch football. Of Moroccan descent, he has made a name for himself in recent seasons with the NAC Academy, where he quickly rose through the ranks. His profile caught the attention of Monaco's scouts, who are always on the lookout for emerging European talent.

On the official website of his training club, the Breda native expressed his gratitude before taking this next step:

I am proud to have played for NAC as a young player from Breda, but I really couldn’t let this opportunity pass me by. I want to thank everyone at the NAC Youth Academy for helping me develop like this.

Safouane Benzahra will initially join AS Monaco’s Elite Group, the true gateway to the professional squad. There, he will continue his development in a demanding environment renowned for its commitment to player development.
