The African continent has never seen a duo reach such market heights as Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané. Together, they top the list of the most expensive African players of all time.

According to Transfermarkt, the market value of each player peaked at €150 million: Salah in 2018 and Mané in 2019. This puts them ahead of stars like Nigerian Victor Osimhen, valued at €120 million in 2023, and Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, currently the most expensive African footballer at €80 million.

Salah began his professional career with Arab Contractors in 2010, valued at just €25,000, before making his mark in Europe with FC Basel, Chelsea, and AS Roma, ultimately becoming one of the world's most valuable players in Liverpool colors.

For his part, Sadio Mané kicked off his European journey with FC Metz in 2012, valued at €50,000, with his worth steadily rising: €15 million in 2014, then €30 million in 2016 with Southampton.

He broke the €100 million barrier in 2018, before soaring to €150 million in 2019 thanks to his outstanding performances for Liverpool, thus sharing with Salah the top spot among the most expensive African players in history.
