Samuel Akere officially signs in Poland

It’s now official: Samuel Akere is a new player for Widzew Łódź, a club competing in the Ekstraklasa, Poland’s top division.

The young Nigerian winger, aged 21, has signed a contract running until June 2029, with an option for an additional year. This long-term deal is a clear sign of the faith the Łódź management has in his potential.

Samuel Akere leaves Botev Plovdiv (Bulgaria), where he had been playing since 2022. Although he still had a year left on his contract with the Bulgarian club, the chance to step up in Poland proved too tempting to resist. Known for his pace and dribbling ability in one-on-one situations, Samuel Akere now hopes to take his career to the next level and make his mark in a more competitive league.
