Samuel Chukwueze receives high praise and support from AC Milan coach!
After AC Milan managed to turn a deficit into a 3-1 win at the San Siro on Friday night, Nigerian striker Samuel Chukwueze received special praise from Portuguese coach Sergio Conceição.
In the second part of the 2024-2025 season, the Super Eagles striker was given a great opportunity to prove himself and the technical abilities he had previously demonstrated in LaLiga with Villarreal after weeks of being relegated to the bench.
In 15 previous appearances for AC Milan, the young Nigerian has only made seven appearances totalling 111 minutes, spending the previous eight games on the bench as a reserve player.
The moment of certainty when the Nigerian turned the game around!
After falling behind against Bologna at the San Siro, the Portuguese coach decided to bring on three players from the bench, including the Nigerian, along with Kial Walker and Santiago Gimenez, and the impact of the change was huge.
Eight minutes after his introduction, the Super Eagles star proved to be the game changer as he set up Christian Pulisic for the equaliser, before the Nigerian set up Gimenez for the third goal, before Pulisic scored the second, as Milan won the game by three goals to one.
Speaking after the game, the Portuguese coach praised his Nigerian player for his game-changing impact, saying:
I have embraced everyone. He (Chukwueze) should be given a very positive word, like the others who came in. He hasn’t played for a long time and wanted to show the coach that I was wrong not to put him in in that game. It’s a good sign to have these doubts in the starting line-up.

The assist was only the Nigerian's first in Serie A this season, and only his second in all competitions, but the positive impact it had on the game will surely make the Portuguese coach change his mind about the Nigerian striker's time with the first team.
