Santos FC defeated CR Vasco da Gama 2-1, a hard-fought victory highlighted by Neymar's return to top form. The striker netted his first goals of the year, helping his team climb out of the relegation zone.

He celebrated his first goal in spectacular fashion, mimicking Vinícius Júnior's signature celebration. Neymar doubled Santos' lead in the 61st minute, securing three crucial points for his side.

The match was further animated by a heated altercation with Thiago Mendes. Neymar appeared to exaggerate a foul, later explaining that he experienced déjà vu after recalling an injury he suffered in 2020 while playing for Paris Saint-Germain FC. Back then, a tackle from Mendes resulted in a serious ankle injury. The referee booked both players with yellow cards for unsportsmanlike conduct. Despite the controversy, Santos achieved the most important thing: victory and an improved position in the standings.
