Christian Gomis's German adventure could already be heading in a new direction. Signed less than a year ago by Schalke 04, the Senegalese striker is not expected to continue with the club, newly promoted to the Bundesliga.

With just one league goal this season, the 25-year-old has gradually lost his spot in the rotation. Despite being under contract until 2029, Schalke is now considering sending him out on loan so he can get more playing time.

According to several sources, FK Austria Wien are very close to striking a deal to bring in the former FC Winterthur striker. Before arriving in Germany, Christian Gomis had made quite an impression in the Swiss league.
