Serie A: Igor Tudor reflects on his first outing with Juventus

Igor Tudor began his tenure at the helm of Juventus with a 1-0 victory over Genoa on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Allianz Stadium. This win ends a streak of defeats and brings the Bianconeri closer to the Serie A Top 4.

A successful debut

Upon his arrival, Tudor implemented notable tactical changes, opting for a three-man defense and starting Dusan Vlahovic up front while relegating Randal Kolo Muani to the bench. These adjustments paid off, with the team displaying renewed intensity and a desire to play more vertically. The only goal of the match came in the 25th minute when Kenan Yildiz, after a layoff from Vlahovic, dribbled past two defenders before beating the goalkeeper with a precise right-footed shot. This effort was enough to secure the victory, despite some missed opportunities to extend the lead.

From the moment he took charge, Igor Tudor made an impression with his direct approach and high demands. Speaking to the press, he did not hide his satisfaction with his team's performance.

"I am very satisfied. Genoa is a serious, efficient team that runs and fights. We did two or three training sessions, the enthusiasm was palpable, but in three days, both from a technical-tactical and psychological point of view, this moment is inevitable. It must be overcome with work, always playing vertically and with different intensity. I am happy because the boys gave their all and for the supporters who counted on us. We won with heart. Now we rest for a whole week," he stated.

However, he acknowledged that improvements are necessary, particularly in terms of offensive efficiency, and stressed the need to continue working to adapt the team to his new system.

"In the end, we could have scored one or two more goals, but it doesn't matter. 1-0 is better than 2-0 mentally, but only once the match is over," concluded Igor Tudor.
