Serie A: Keita Baldé marks his return from injury and rescues Monza

After three weeks out with a hamstring injury, Keita Baldé made a sensational return for AC Monza this Sunday, May 11, on Serie A matchday 36.

This afternoon, AC Monza traveled to Udinese's ground hoping to end a long winless streak. Keita Baldé started the match on the bench but came on in the 65th minute to replace Omari Forson. At that point, Monza were leading 1-0 thanks to a goal by Gianluca Caprari just after the break (52'). Udinese hit back in the 75th minute through Lorenzo Lucca, bringing the game level and ramping up the tension.

In a match that remained tense and undecided until the final whistle, Keita Baldé made the difference in the dying moments. Set up perfectly by Kevin Zeroli, the Senegalese striker burst into the box and fired home Monza’s second goal in the 90th minute. Marking his 9th Serie A appearance this season, Keita Baldé notched his second goal of the campaign and delivered victory for AC Monza, who are already relegated to the second division for the 2025/2026 season.
