Siwelele FC have announced the signing of striker Chibuike Ohizu from fellow Betway Premiership club Sekhukhune United.

The transfer is believed to be a season-long loan, which includes an option for the Bloemfontein-based outfit to make the deal permanent.

Ohizu has been at Babina Noko since the 2020/21 campaign and went on to become a regular feature in the starting XI.

He made a total of 117 appearances across all competitions for Sekhukhune, chipping in with 30 goals and three assists during his stay.

The Nigerian forward’s contribution earned him a new contract that is set to run until June 2027, but a reported internal rift with head coach Eric Tinkler saw him opt for a move away.

In the ongoing campaign, Ohizu featured in six matches, starting two of those encounters. Moreover, Bradley Grobler’s arrival saw the player fall down the pecking order.

Now, the 28-year-old, who was heavily linked with a move to Algerian giants MC Alger at the beginning of last season, will reunite with coach Lehlohonolo Seema at Siwelele.

The pair worked together at Sekhukhune and will be hoping to help the newly rebranded club achieve its targets for this season.
