Soumaïla Coulibaly set for an early return to Dortmund?
Soumaïla Coulibaly may not see out his loan spell at Brest. Although the defender is on loan from Borussia Dortmund until June 2025, he could be heading back to Germany sooner than expected.
According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga side is looking to recall several players currently out on loan, with their sights firmly set on the upcoming Club World Cup. Among their top priorities is 21-year-old Soumaïla Coulibaly.
Developed at Paris, the French-Malian defender has earned significant playing time in Ligue 1 this season. With 32 appearances and 2 assists, he has established himself as a key figure for Stade Brestois. His discipline and steady progress have not gone unnoticed by Dortmund. Talks are ongoing. Nothing has been finalized yet, but a swift return seems increasingly likely.
