SPL: Houssem Aouar pays tribute to Karim Benzema!

Algerian star Houssem Aouar, midfielder for Al-Ittihad FC in Saudi Arabia, expressed his deep admiration for his French teammate Karim Benzema following the club's Saudi Pro League triumph for the 2024/2025 season.

In an interview with the Saudi Pro League’s official YouTube channel, Aouar recalled how the season kicked off with a string of victories before the team went through both challenging and joyful phases. He emphasized that winning critical moments demonstrated the squad’s collective strength and team spirit.

A heartfelt tribute to Benzema and a pivotal role in the title!

Proud to share the pitch with Benzema, Aouar described the striker as an “inspiring captain,” saying that playing alongside him was a dream come true, especially since he had already followed Benzema as a fan during his academy days.

The former Olympique Lyonnais player stated:
“Al-Ittihad’s success this season would not have been possible without the major impact of Karim Benzema. He’s a born competitor who wants to win every competition he enters. I always see him determined to give his absolute best.”

He continued:
“Without Karim, we wouldn’t have reached these heights this season. His influence was decisive. He loves competition and fights for every trophy. Being by his side every day means sharing the pitch with a player who came to Saudi Arabia with only one goal: to win.”

To conclude, Aouar added:
“This is my first league title in my career. I feel immense joy that I will carry with me for the rest of my life, until the end of my career. This season, we were the best team in the league and dominated every opponent.”

It’s worth noting that “the World Cup player” helped Al-Ittihad clinch the Saudi Pro League title by finishing first with 83 points, ahead of Al-Hilal (75 points) and Al-Nassr (70 points).
