Stade Rennais: Official, Habib Beye extends his contract by one year

Habib Beye, who arrived in January 2025 to turn around a struggling side, has convinced the management with his immediate impact. Under his leadership, Stade Rennais FC rediscovered its positive momentum and strung together a series of solid performances. The Breton club won seven of its fourteen matches, thus securing its place in the French top flight.

While discussions about the Senegalese manager's future were expected, the club made its decision without hesitation. The 47-year-old himself confirmed the news at a press conference on Friday, May 2, 2025, ahead of the trip to Toulouse.

"My clause is clear, you know it, if the club is in Ligue 1, I have an automatic one-year contract (so) yes, it’s official," he told the media.

The Senegalese coach, who had already demonstrated his expertise by leading Red Star from the National to Ligue 2, now sees his progression in the profession confirmed. With this extension, Stade Rennais hopes to regain stability after a period marked by several managerial changes. The club now plans to build on the foundations laid by Habib Beye to pursue more ambitious goals next season.
