Still Hungry: Salah Opens Up on Liverpool Stay and Elusive Ballon d'Or Dream


Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah's revealed he plans to retire at the age of 39 or 40 shedding light on his long term vision & recent contract renewal with the Reds.
"Only 10% Chance to Stay"
In candid interview with Sky Sports, Salah admitted he didn’t expect to extend his contract with Liverpool beyond this season due to the club’s well known policy of letting go of players over 30.
"We know the club’s philosophy. I’m not criticizing it , just pointing out how they’ve handled older players before. So I honestly didn’t expect to stay" Salah said.
His contract was set to expire on 30 Jun but the Egyptian ended months of speculation by signing 2 year extension in April.
Salah revealed serious negotiations only started in Jan & lasted for months before reaching agreement.
Proving His Worth
''I believe the club was testing me , seeing whether I could still deliver at the top level'' he added.
Still Chasing Ballon d’Or Dream
Despite Liverpool’s early Champions league exit this season, Salah stressed that his dream of winning the Ballon d’or remains alive.
Retirement Age Set
When asked about retirement, Salah confidently responded: "39 or 40" The response signals his determination to continue at the highest level for several more years.
