The 2026 World Cup Final Holds a Big Surprise!
The final of the 2026 World Cup, scheduled at the MetLife Stadium in New York, on July 19, will be the scene of a groundbreaking event in the history of the tournament, which has existed since 1930.
Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, announced on his Instagram account that a first-ever musical performance will be organized during the halftime of the final, marking a historic moment for the World Cup.

In his message, Infantino specified:
"It was a pleasure to exchange with friends and colleagues present at the FIFA Commercial Partners and Media Convention in Dallas, where we discussed exciting projects for the biggest FIFA World Cup in 2026.
I am pleased to confirm the first musical performance at the halftime of a World Cup final, in New York/New Jersey, in collaboration with Global Citizen. It will be a historic moment for the World Cup, and a show worthy of the world's greatest sporting event.
We also discussed how FIFA will invest in Times Square during the last weekend of the 2026 World Cup, during the semi-final and the final.
These will be two exceptional matches, with some of the best players in the world, and what better place to celebrate them than at the iconic Times Square in New York.
I wish to thank Hugh Evans, the CEO of Global Citizen, and his incredible team, for helping make these amazing shows possible. I also thank Chris Martin and Phil Harvey of Coldplay, who will collaborate with FIFA to finalize the list of artists performing during the halftime show, as well as at Times Square."
It should be noted that the 2026 World Cup final will be held at the MetLife Stadium, a venue capable of accommodating 82,500 spectators, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, as already announced by FIFA.
