The latest news: Rulani Mokwena to sign for a new club soon!
Rulani Mokwena

After many rumours about his future, South African coach Rulani Mokwena has been linked to several clubs, including South African club Mamelodi Sundowns and Egyptian club Zamalek SC.

The 38-year-old South African coach has just parted ways with Wydad just one season after arriving at the club, and in his first season he was unable to achieve anything in Morocco and ended his lone season

What happened with Rulani Mokwena in Morocco?

Rulani Mokwena's tenure at Wydad Casablanca has come to an abrupt end following the club's disappointing finish to the season. The Moroccan giants, who once seemed destined for CAF Champions League qualification, saw their hopes dashed by a frustrating run of seven consecutive draws - a slump that ultimately cost the South African tactician his job.

The 38-year-old coach, formerly of Mamelodi Sundowns, departed after Wydad's final match of the campaign, having already been absent from the dugout for the last three games. His dismissal marks a dramatic turn for the highly-regarded young manager who arrived with much promise.

Now, fresh reports from Egyptian media suggest Mokwena could be set for an immediate return to management. Radio Mars claims the tactician has received a concrete offer from Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek, with negotiations reportedly at an advanced stage.

Should the move materialize, Mokwena would take charge of the Cairo-based club ahead of their new season, adding another intriguing chapter to his rapidly evolving coaching career. The potential appointment comes at a crucial time for Zamalek as they look to rebuild and challenge for domestic and continental honors.
