Around the half-hour mark, referee David Webb collapsed after an accidental collision with Jordan Ayew. The impact was heavy. The official went down, clearly stunned by the blow. As play continued, Jamie Vardy picked up the whistle that had fallen to the ground and stopped the game himself.

He immediately signaled for the medical team, who rushed onto the pitch to check on David Webb. The 49-year-old referee would not return to the match. Fearing a possible concussion, he was replaced by fourth official Sam Barrott.
