The Tunisian international Ali Maâloul has earned his place among the top scoring defenders of the 21st century.

Having enjoyed a highly successful spell with Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly, the former "Carthage Eagle" now finds himself a free agent.

According to statistics from the specialist site “transfermarket”, the Sfax-born defender has netted 90 goals, placing him ninth in this ranking alongside Algeria’s Abderahmane Hachoud.

An outstanding achievement for the valiant Tunisian left-back, who is now hoping to secure a new club during this summer transfer window.

Ali Maâloul’s record with Al Ahly

The 35-year-old joined the Egyptian football giants in 2016 from Club Sportif Sfaxien for a fee of 730,000 euros. He featured in 292 matches across all competitions, amassing 51 goals and 82 assists.
