Tottenham: Concern over Pape Matar Sarr!
Just days before the Europa League final, Tottenham are facing a serious setback. Sidelined with a back injury during the defeat to Aston Villa (0-2), Pape Matar Sarr might miss the crucial showdown against Manchester United in Bilbao.
The young Senegalese international was forced off the pitch early in the 53rd minute, clearly struggling, and headed straight to the dressing room accompanied by the medical staff.
This early exit has sparked fears among the London club’s ranks, as the midfielder has become a key part of Ange Postecoglou’s system.
Tottenham still hoping to recover Sarr
In the post-match press conference, the Australian coach tried to ease concerns:
“He felt some discomfort in his back, it was mainly precautionary.” Despite these reassuring words, the anxiety is palpable, with just five days to go before the European clash.
This match against Aston Villa, which was supposed to allow squad rotation, ultimately left more questions than answers. Mikey Moore also left the field looking exhausted, while the only bright spot was the return of Son Heung-min, back in the starting lineup after a lengthy absence.
Tottenham now hope to have Sarr back in time for the final.
