Transfer Latest: Manchester City Beat Liverpool in Race for Lyon’s Rayan Cherki

Manchester City are on the verge of landing French sensation Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyon in the 2025 summer transfer window according to top transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

Deal Nearing Final Stages

Romano reported on Wednesday that City have already agreed personal terms with the 21 year old attacking midfielder.

"Man City have reached agreement on personal terms with Rayan Cherki .. official bid coming soon" the journalist posted on X.

This move comes just days after City secured Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, with Cherki next in line to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s midfield setup.

Left Back Reinforcement Also on the Radar

Romano also revealed that Wolves Franco Algerian full back Rayan Ait Nouri's key option to reinforce the left back position as City plan busy summer overhaul.

PL champions Liverpool were also in the race for Cherki but City now lead the chase as they prepare to launch an official offer to Lyon in the coming days.
