Transfer market: Amrabat once again on the radar of Italian clubs
Moroccan international midfielder Sofyan Amrabat (28 years old) is once again drawing the attention of Italian side Atalanta, thanks to his outstanding performances with Fenerbahçe last season.
Atalanta persists despite financial disagreements
The Italian club is facing challenges in finalizing the transfer with Fenerbahçe, as negotiations are mainly stalling over the player's price tag. Atalanta has put forward an offer of 15 million euros, bonuses included, while the Turkish club, managed by José Mourinho, is demanding at least 20 million euros to let Amrabat go, who is under contract until summer 2028.
Coach Ivan Jurić holds Amrabat’s physical and technical qualities in high regard, seeing him as a major asset to strengthen the midfield. However, he is not prepared to raise his offer to meet the Turkish club’s asking price.
If the transfer goes through, this would mark the eighth chapter in Amrabat’s professional career, having already played in several leagues, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, England, and Turkey.
It’s worth noting that Amrabat featured in 39 matches last season for Fenerbahçe, most of them as a starter, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
