Transfer: Tariq Lamptey joins QPR after leaving Fiorentina
Queens Park Rangers have officially announced the signing of Tariq Lamptey. The 25-year-old Ghanaian right-back joins the London club as a free agent following his departure from Fiorentina.
After his stint in Italy, the former Brighton player is opening a new chapter in his career at Loftus Road, where he'll be looking to reignite his momentum and bring valuable experience to the QPR squad.
An experienced addition to the right flank
Despite his young age, Lamptey boasts solid top-flight experience with over 100 Premier League appearances. QPR CEO Christian Nourry highlighted the Ghanaian defender's talent and his potential to strengthen the team.
Enthused by his new challenge, Lamptey described his style of play: “I'm a hardworking player, I like to get up and down the pitch, bring lots of energy and fun. Hopefully I’ll keep the fans on the edge of their seats. I love one-on-one duels, both defensively and offensively.”
A mainstay for the Black Stars
A regular for the Ghanaian national team, Tariq Lamptey has remained a key figure for the Black Stars since making his debut. His speed, relentless work rate, and aggressive approach in duels make him a coveted profile for the English league.
With this signing, QPR have secured a defender used to the demands of top-level football on a free transfer, and he could soon become a key player in their bid for promotion back to the Championship.
