Transfer window: agreement reached between KV Mechelen and Venezia for Redouane Halhal
Redouane Halhal could be on his way to Italy in the coming hours. The Moroccan international (5 caps) is set to sign for Venezia, newly promoted this season to Serie A.
At 23, the Montpellier-born defender is close to discovering a new league. According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, an agreement has been reached between KV Mechelen and Venezia for the transfer of the Atlas Lions defender.
The deal is worth around 5 million euros, with bonuses and a percentage of any future sale going to the Belgian club. The medical check and official announcement are expected to take place within 48 hours. During the last winter transfer window, his name was linked with Hellas Verona.
Venezia finished the 2025-2026 season at the top of the Serie B table with 82 points. Their first match of the new season will be against Lecce on August 23, followed by a trip to Milan on the 28th.

Redouane Halhal featured in 34 matches across all competitions last season for KV Mechelen, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists. He was selected by Mohamed Ouahbi for the 2026 World Cup, playing every minute of both matches against Haiti (4-2) and Canada (3-0).
