Transfer window: Ansu Fati on the verge of joining Monaco!
According to Spanish media reports published on Tuesday, Ansu Fati, the FC Barcelona forward, has made a clear decision about his future, after being completely left out of new coach Hansi Flick’s plans. Flick didn’t even include him in the squad, despite the many absences currently plaguing the Catalan roster.
Ansu Fati targeted by AS Monaco for a loan with an option to buy
According to journalist Helena Condis from COPE radio, Fati (22) has reached an agreement with AS Monaco for a loan deal including a purchase option at the end of the season. The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming hours.
Although Chelsea made a last-minute move, the player’s priority remains to join Monaco and play under Austrian coach Adi Hütter.
In the same vein, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal would be a loan with a €20 million purchase option, with Barcelona retaining a buy-back clause or a percentage of any future resale.
Despite his immense potential, Ansu Fati failed to make his mark this season. He played only 11 matches in all competitions, registering neither a goal nor an assist, with a total of just 298 minutes on the pitch. These are modest numbers, especially given his talent and age.
