Transfer window: Mahrez set for sensational Man City return, wild rumor sparks excitement!

According to the highly reputable Algerian outlet La Gazette du Fennec, Riyad Mahrez could be set for a shock return to Manchester City.

Nearly two years after his move to Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, the Algerian captain is reportedly in advanced talks with the Sky Blues for a one-month loan, coinciding with the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled from June 15 to July 13 in the United States.

Although Al Ahli wonโ€™t be participating in the competition, FIFA is exceptionally allowing qualified clubs to temporarily sign players for the tournament. Manchester City is eager to seize this opportunity to bolster their attacking options, and Mahrez, currently dazzling in the Saudi Pro League, would be the perfect fit.

An opportunity the player finds irresistible

Pep Guardiola, always a fan of creative profiles, would surely welcome back one of his former key men. Mahrez, still in top form and as inspired as ever with the ball at his feet, left a lasting legacy at City with 78 goals and 56 assists in 236 matches, not to mention 11 major trophies.

According to La Gazette du Fennec, Mahrez is excited by the prospect of featuring in this prestigious tournament, which will showcase stars such as Lionel Messi and possibly Cristiano Ronaldo.

Again, according to the same sources, all thatโ€™s left is for the two clubs to reach an agreement to make this exceptional loan official. An answer is expected in the coming days.
