The Dutch attacking midfielder of Moroccan descent will not be competing in the second tier of Dutch football. He leaves RKC Waalwijk, who finished second-to-last in the 2024-2025 Eredivisie, to join the team that placed 11th in the most recent Dutch league standings.

The 23-year-old has signed a one-year contract with an option for a second. Determined to kickstart his career after some tough years, he expressed his motivation: "At RKC Waalwijk, I rediscovered my passion for football, and now at Fortuna, I have the chance to take the next step. My talks with the manager were very positive and convinced me this was the right move—especially because I wanted to stay in the Netherlands. Fans can expect me to give everything for this club," he told the club's official website.

A product of PSV Eindhoven's academy, Ihattaren has yet to fulfill the promise of his early career, still carrying the "future star" label without truly breaking through—largely due to the loss of his father. He struggled to make his mark, notably during stints with Juventus and Ajax Amsterdam.
