Transfer window: OM make contact with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Could Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang return to OM this summer? The Marseille club is reportedly back in contact with the Gabonese striker.
A year after leaving Olympique de Marseille, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's name is once again being linked to the French club. Last summer, the Gabon international headed to Saudi Arabia, where he signed a deal running until June 2026 with the ambitious Al-Qadsiah side.
Wearing his new colors, the former FC Barcelona forward has shone brightly, netting 21 goals and providing 3 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions. Despite these impressive performances, a departure for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is already being considered.
Negotiations are underway to terminate his contract with the Saudi club. Other Saudi Pro League sides, as well as teams from MLS, SΓΌper Lig, the Premier League, Serie A, and Spain, are also in the running.
In France, Aubameyang hasn't been forgotten either. This Wednesday, Foot Mercato reports that Olympique de Marseille is in contact with the player and his camp regarding a potential return. For now, OM and all other interested clubs must wait for Aubameyang to officially terminate his Saudi contract, as he is still under contract there.
