Abdul Mendy

Villarreal CF has set its sights on Abdul Mendy as part of its summer recruitment drive. The club is keen to secure the services of this promising Senegalese shot-stopper, who is currently considered the tallest goalkeeper playing in Spain.

Abdourahamane Mendy, known as Abdul Mendy, is 22 years old and has caught the eye with his imposing and extraordinary stature (2.07 m), as well as his rare athletic qualities. Trained at the Espérance de Guédiawaye academy in Senegal, he made the move to Europe to further his development. His exceptional height gives him a clear advantage in aerial duels and on his line—something that has not gone unnoticed by Villarreal's scouts, who are always on the lookout for unique profiles to bolster their squad.

In its search for a new talent between the posts, Villarreal is focusing on Abdul Mendy, who has already been in Spain with CE L’Hospitalet since the summer of 2024. The Yellow Submarine is reported to have already begun negotiations to sign the Senegalese goalkeeper and integrate him into their B team.
