Four teams have secured their spots in the African playoffs for the U-17 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Qatar this November, after finishing third in their group during the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations group stage, held in Morocco.

These four teams are: Egypt, Uganda, Gambia, and Angola. The first playoff match for World Cup qualification will see Egypt face Angola on Saturday, April 12, while the second match on the same day will pit Uganda against Gambia.

The kickoff for the encounter between Gambia and Uganda is set for 16:00 GMT, and the decisive match between Egypt and Angola will begin at 19:00 GMT.

Eight African teams qualified for the U-17 World Cup

On the other hand, eight African teams have already secured their tickets for the 2025 U-17 World Cup: Burkina Faso, Zambia, Morocco, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Tunisia, and Mali.

There are still two spots up for grabs for African teams, which will be awarded during two playoff matches scheduled for next Saturday, as mentioned at the beginning of the article.

It is noteworthy that the 2025 U-17 World Cup in Qatar will be held for the first time with 48 participating teams, 10 of which will come from the African continent, compared to only 4 in previous editions.
