U-20 friendly: Togo and Benin play to a draw at Stade de Kégué
Bénin U20 vs Togo U20

On Wednesday, June 11 at the Kégué Stadium in Lomé, the Togolese U20 squad hosted their Beninese counterparts for a friendly match as part of their preparations for the upcoming WAFU U20 tournament, zones A and B. This encounter was intended as a benchmark for the coaches to assess both physical and technical form.

It was Benin who struck first, opening the scoring in the 29th minute through Kévin Alavo (1-0). The scoreline remained unchanged through halftime. After the break, the home side upped the tempo and managed to level things up thanks to a penalty converted by Kpelafia Sadate in the 55th minute. Neither side could find a winner, despite a flurry of substitutions and tactical adjustments. The friendly ended all square at 1-1.

Originally scheduled to kick off on June 15, 2025 in Ghana, the WAFU U20 Cup has been postponed to a later date. In light of this unexpected decision, the Togo and Benin coaching staffs have opted to calmly continue their preparations.
