The UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid is already making history. At half-time, the Bavarians trail 3-2 on their own Allianz Arena turf, after a breathtaking first half.

More than just the scoreline, it’s the historic magnitude that stands out. Bayern have conceded three goals in the first half at home only twice in their entire Champions League history. The first time dates back to 2014… also against Real Madrid, in a night that remains painfully etched in the German club’s memory.

Despite their advantage from the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu (2-1), the Munich side were stunned by Madrid’s ruthless efficiency and lightning-fast execution. The second half promises to be decisive, in a clash where both history and qualification hang in the balance.
