UEFA Champions League: Al-Khelaïfi’s statements after PSG qualify for the final!
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi hailed his team’s “exceptional” performance after their victory over Arsenal, securing a historic spot in the Champions League final.
The Parisian club knocked out the English giants by winning both legs, including a 2-1 triumph in the second leg of the semi-finals, under the competition’s new format.
Al-Khelaïfi congratulates his players and urges caution
Speaking to Radio Monte Carlo Internationale, the Qatari president said: “We have to be proud of what we’ve accomplished—proud of the players, the supporters, and everyone who works for the club. We must remember the group stage. Back then, nothing was guaranteed, but we always believed in this team and our coach. This is a huge source of pride for everyone.”
At 51 years old, Al-Khelaïfi continued: “I told the players I was proud of them. We have a fantastic group, with exceptional players.”
However, he was quick to temper the euphoria: “But it’s not over. There’s still one crucial match to play. Tonight, we can celebrate, especially since this time it was in front of our fans—which wasn’t the case in our last final.”
