UFOA U-20 Cup: full draw revealed
The countdown has begun. The draw for the UFOA U-20 Cup for zones A and B took place this Friday, May 20, 2025, in Abidjan, at the CAF headquarters, UFOA B zone.
Thirteen West African nations will compete in this qualifying tournament for the 2025 U-20 AFCON, scheduled from June 15 to 30 in Ghana. With just one month to go before the tournament kicks off, the groups have now been announced:
Group A: Ghana, Togo, Gambia, Liberia
Group B: Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Niger, Mali
Group C: Senegal, Sierra Leone, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin
Group B looks especially tough with Nigeria, multiple continental champions, joined by always-dangerous youth sides like Mali and Burkina Faso. In Group C, Senegal, the 2023 U-20 African champions, will face an ambitious Côte d'Ivoire, an improving Benin, and a Sierra Leone team eager to prove themselves. As for Ghana, the hosts will have home advantage as they look to shine in a wide-open but tricky Group A.
