UFOA U20 Cup: Tournament scheduled for June postponed

The UFOA U20 Nations Cup, initially slated for June 15 to 29, 2025, in Ghana, will not take place as planned. Organizers have decided to postpone the tournament to a future date, with the new schedule yet to be announced.

Just days before the opening whistle, the West African Football Union (UFOA), overseeing zones A and B, announced on Monday, June 9, the postponement of the men's tournament, which was set to bring together thirteen (13) U20 men's national teams in Accra. This decision comes despite advanced preparations.

The exact reasons for the postponement have not been officially disclosed. According to multiple sources, the decision stems from a request by the host committee (UFOA-B), citing the need for enhanced logistical and organizational support. No new dates have been set yet. UFOA has assured that details of the revised schedule will be communicated shortly.

In the meantime, all concerned federations must now adjust their plans. In Togo, officials have decided to maintain their training window. The U20 Eperviers will gather in Lomé and play a friendly against Benin this Wednesday, June 11, behind closed doors, to keep up their momentum.
