UK Bans 150 Man City & Chelsea Fans from Traveling to Club World Cup
The UK Home Office's announced that around 150 Manchester City & Chelsea supporters with history of violence will be barred from traveling to the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States this summer.
Tough Travel Restrictions
Between 9 Jun & 13 Jul, fans subject to Football Banning Orders FBOs will be required to surrender their passports to the police. This measure aims to prevent any football related disturbances during the tournament.
Noncompliance could lead to:
- A 6 month prison sentence
- An unlimited fine
- Extended banning orders
Tournament & Teams Involved
The expanded Club World Cup will run from June 14 to July 13 featuring 32 club at 10 venues across the U.S. including the Rose Bowl California & MetLife Stadium New Jersey.
Chelsea's group: Flamengo (Brazil), Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia) and replacement for Club León (Mexico).
Man City’s group: Wydad AC (Morocco), Al Ain (UAE) and Juventus (Italy).

Policing Minister Diana Johnson stated:
“For the tiny minority of troublemakers who use football as excuse for criminality, we'll apply the same proven measures as we've for other overseas tournaments”
With 2,172 FBOs active in England & Wales, this policy follows similar passport surrender schemes used during Euro 2024 in Germany.
