Utrecht: Sébastien Haller wants to stay, Dortmund open to talks
On loan from Borussia Dortmund, Sébastien Haller has rediscovered his form in the Netherlands. In a familiar environment, the Ivorian striker has regained his confidence and is eager to extend his stay.
According to Voetbalzone, the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations champion wants to remain at FC Utrecht, a club where he feels "comfortable" and supported. The desire is mutual. Utrecht values his impact both on the pitch and in the dressing room. But to make this wish a reality, Dortmund will have to be involved.
Meanwhile, in Germany, the Bundesliga club is not ruling out a permanent departure. According to several sources, Borussia wants to quickly reach an agreement with Utrecht. A permanent transfer is clearly on the table. The only thing left is to settle the financial terms.
Under contract with Dortmund until 2026, Haller is no longer part of BVB’s immediate plans. A return to the Eredivisie, where his career truly took off, now appears to be the preferred scenario for all parties involved.
