Valencia CF ends rumors: no contact with Shobeir!

The sporting director of the Spanish club Valencia, Miguel Ángel Corona, has responded to the circulating rumors regarding the potential arrival of Al Ahly goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir, during the upcoming summer transfer window.

In recent days, several media outlets had mentioned Valencia's interest in the young goalkeeper from the Cairo giants, aiming to compensate for the announced departure of Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is expected to join Liverpool as early as July.

Valencia CF denies: "Shobeir is not in our plans"!

But in a statement to the Egyptian site Btolat, Miguel Ángel Corona formally denied this information:
"No, absolutely not. It's false. We are not following this player."

However, Mostafa Shobeir has shone brightly with Al Ahly over the past season. His high-level performances earned him a place on the final list of candidates for the African Best Goalkeeper award in 2024.

To date, he has played 49 matches, including 29 clean sheets, and has conceded only 27 goals in total.

But his greatest achievement remains his exceptional campaign in the 2023/2024 African Champions League, where he made history by becoming the first Al Ahly goalkeeper to finish the competition without conceding a single goal, a unique feat to his credit.
