Bayer Leverkusen are preparing for massive squad overhaul this summer and Nigerian striker Victor Boniface's one of the first names on the exit list amid strong interest from Premier League side Newcastle United.

Boniface Edging Closer to Exit

Despite helping Leverkusen to historic Bundesliga title last season, the German club's now eager to cash in on the Super Eagles forward who has tallied 17 goal and & 11 assist in 51 appearances since arriving from Union SG.

Reports suggest that Leverkusen are desperate to sell Boniface with Newcastle in advanced talks to secure his signature. The Magpies are reportedly seeking backup or possible successor to Alexander Isak whose future remains uncertain.

From Bundesliga Glory to Uncertain Future

Boniface's time at Leverkusen was hampered by injuries, yet his impact remains undeniable. He was nearly sold to Saudi club Al Ahli in Jan but the deal collapsed , with the club pivoting to Ivan Toney instead.

Now with Jeremie Frimpong set for Liverpool, Florian Wirtz tipped for move abroad and coach Xabi Alonso expected to join Real Madrid, the Leverkusen squad's crumbling and Boniface's likely the next to go.

Right Time to Move

At 24 Boniface knows this could be his moment to join bigger league and secure lucrative contract before Leverkusen's potential dip in form affects his value.

If the transfer materializes, Newcastle will gain powerful, versatile striker who can ease the burden on Isak and bolster the club’s attack ahead of challenging season.
