The Real Madrid star sparked widespread reaction online after hinting, humorously, at a possible future in the NBA.

Mbappé’s night on the pitch was relatively quiet. Introduced for a brief spell and seeing a goal ruled out for offside, he had little time to influence proceedings in a meaningful way.

But minutes after the match, the French captain shifted attention off the pitch entirely.

In video that quickly spread across social media, Mbappé is seen striking a football with precision sending it cleanly through a basketball hoop.

The clip, simple yet striking immediately caught the attention of fans worldwide.

What elevated the moment from skill to spectacle was Mbappé’s caption. Tagging the official NBA account, he jokingly asked:

“A 10 day contract?”

From football to basketball? Not impossible but unlikely

While the idea of Mbappé stepping onto an NBA court remains firmly in the realm of entertainment, the crossover between football and basketball is not entirely unheard of.

NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon, for instance, initially played as a goalkeeper in Nigeria before switching to basketball at the age of 15.

However, a direct transition at the elite level especially for a player at Mbappé’s peak .. would be unprecedented.
