Visa Drama Delays Omar Al Somah’s Arrival to Wydad’s U.S. Camp
Syrian forward Omar Al Somah, recently signed by Wydad Casablanca for the 2025 FIFA Club World cup has yet to join the Moroccan team’s training camp in Maryland, USA.
Al Somah joined Wydad on short term deal exclusively for the tournament, coming from Saudi side Al Orobah as part of special fifa registration window granted to participating clubs.
Unexpected Hold Up in Switzerland
According to Morocco’s Hesport, Al Somah traveled to Bern, Switzerland to complete the U.S visa process. However he was unexpectedly delayed after the U.S Embassy closed for public holiday preventing the final steps of visa issuance.
Reports indicate the outlet that the visa's expected to be granted by Monday after which the player will fly directly to the U.S and link up with the squad.
Wydad’s Group Stage Test
Wydad're placed in Group G alongside Man City, Juventus and Al Ain. The Moroccan giants are set to kick off their campaign against Man city this Wednesday in one of the tournament’s most anticipated early clashes.
Al Somah’s arrival could provide Wydad with timely boost ahead of the showdown.
