For more than 24 years, Mário Jardel's name shone brightly in Galatasaray's books and headlines, and his record of 34 goals in a season was a unique record that no one could break for a long time.

Last Wednesday, the legendary Brazilian striker stood in his living room watching Nigerian star Victor Osimhen score his 34th goal of the season against Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup final, which Galatasaray won 3-0 after a superb performance that earned them the title.

A proud moment by the Brazilian star!

Turkish fans and supporters from all over the world enjoyed watching their former star dance in front of the TV screen in support of their current striker, Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen. It was a decisive moment when Yunus Akgün entered the opponent's penalty area and set up the ball for Victor Osimen, who managed to put it in the back of the net in the end.

A very special season for Victor Osimhen

When the Nigerian forward arrived at Galatasaray on loan last summer, fans were hopeful—but no one expected him to take Turkish football by storm.

At just 26, he has been unstoppable: 24 league goals, 6 in the Europa League, and 5 in the Turkish Cup, proving himself as one of the most lethal attackers in Europe. But his defining moment came in the cup final, where his historic double not only secured Galatasaray’s 19th title but also etched his name in the record books as the first foreign player to score twice in a Turkish Cup final.
