“We Know Egypt Well” - Morocco U20 Coach Targets Final Spot

Morocco U20 head coach Mohamed Ouahbi stressed the importance of focus and efficiency ahead of his team’s highly anticipated clash with Egypt in the semi finals of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, set for Thursday.

Realism & Respect for Egypt

Speaking at press conference on Wednesday, Ouahbi said:

"We must be realistic against egypt in the semi final. It's tough match and we know Egypt very well. They’re team that doesn’t give up and has many talented players"

The coach highlighted the need for sharpness in front of goal:

"We've to convert our chances and remain composed and focused throughout the match to reach the final"

Eyes on the Trophy & World Cup

Ouahbi also reflected on their recent win over Sierra Leone in the quarter finals which secured Morocco’s spot at the U 20 FIFA World cup in Chile this fall.

"The players were overjoyed after achieving our main goal , World Cup qualification. That result brought a lot of relief"

He added:

"Now we want to go all the way and win the African title. That’s our next objective"

What’s Next

Morocco'll meet Egypt for place in the final. The winner will face either South Africa or Nigeria who play the other semi final on the same day.

Morocco booked their spot in the last 4 with 1 - 0 win over Sierra Leone as the tournament continues on Egyptian soil.
